The Upswing
This week was a little different as I only could play a few hours and a few sessions this week. I attempted to play during the promotion days In Rhode Island (Twin River) and in Connecticut (Mohegan Sun) to maximize my time.
Walking into the old Lincoln Greyhound Park (Bally's Twin River RI) I was remembering the past. This was a dog Track when I was growing up and then this area had Lottery Machines and a dog track. It didn't turn into a full casino until about 2010. It only added Poker in 2016 and immediately became popular because this poker room always had lots of action, it was surrounded by colleges and the gambling age was 18 years old. Ripe for any rounder. As I sat in my seat in the poker room I noticed lots of younger players. Bally's Twin River had a promotion running High Hand every 30 Minutes $300. Here's how my session went:
I started off card dead for about 30 Minutes until I picked up Pocket 10's I made a raise to $15 preflop got called by one person bet made another bet post flop and took down a small pot. After that came the hand of the week AA on the button. This table was hyper aggressive and the big blind was always raising to $20 or $25 preflop so I made the immediate decision to set the villain up for the knockout. I limped on the button with AA waiting for this over aggressive player to make his move and the he ....checked his option. (OHHHHH NOOOOO) 5 to the Flop all Limped with $10 in the pot to a Flop of Ac 7d 3s. I know if I bet here no one is calling as it was the safest possible flop for AA. All 4 Players in front of me checked and I did also knowing I had the best hand. This was a huge gamble put it was about to pay off. The Turn Card Ad. I now have 4 Aces and the Small Blind Bets out for $20 everyone else folds and I call with the River being a 4c. The Small Blind Checks to me and I bet $40 he calls I flip Over 4 Aces its good for the pot and the High Hand. The small blind villain later told me he only had a pair of 77 (I'm surprised he called $40 ) After that I was card dead again however because of the high hand I made a $319 profit after tipping. The Upswing has started !!
My next session was at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut during another high hand promotion day. Sometimes when you play you know your not playing to your "A" game, and then somedays when you play you know your zoned in and playing at the top level. Today was a day where my game was on point, it was my A+++ game. The best I've played so far this year. I made great laydowns, great calls I played JJ to almost perfection, my table image was perfect tight aggressive and I really didn't run well but I took a Profit of $109 a small win but enough to end the week up and erase the horrible loss from last week. Ending the week with a bankroll of $4,502.00. Snow became an issue and with the snow and work I couldn't play many hours or sessions this week but in the life of Poker, there is always tomorrow and next week!!!
Talk to you all next week !!!!
